BACKGROUND:
The KsAWWA Safety Award recognizes water utilities with a commitment to make employees’ health and safety a main priority, bringing employees together by achieving a more proficient and productive workforce through training and education. Award nominees compiled multiple-year safety data for consideration and measured productivity and cost savings by reducing or eliminating the potential for lost time accidents. The award was presented at the Annual Conference Business Meeting in Wichita on August 29th
The award recognizes utilities of varying sizes. WaterOne of Johnson County was also recognized at the conference for utilities with 101 to 500 employees. Awardees from KsAWWA will be considered along with other candidates nationally for the AWWA Wendell LaDue Utility Safety Award.
